"Abby Cox reviewed Bend Beer Yoga — 5 star November 22 at 9:14am · Your first thoughts may be: "Beer in a yoga class? How does that work?" "As a yoga instructor, I get a lot of heat from other yogis and it's quite obvious you don't mix the two, but this isn't your traditional yoga class people. When I first heard about Beer Yoga, my first thought (above) and then right away I knew I had to give it a go. I love yoga, I love beer, so why not? Yoga doesn't always have to be serious, it can be silly and fun! I took my first class at Worthy Brewing in Bend,OR and it was so much fun! Nice gentle yoga poses incorporating sips of beer here and there. Cheersing with my neighboring yogi, making new friends + meeting new yogis, laughing when I would lose my balance. It wasn't uncomfortable, it wasn't a workout, and it wasn't a kegger. No eyes on me, no weird adjustments, no competition..just open minded individuals who wanted to give a fun class a try. I then got in touch with Bend Beer Yoga and was offered an opportunity to teach for them. I now have taught a handful of classes and attended just about all of the classes offered, (which isn't just limited to beer, there has been mimosas, wine, beer, & cocktails.), and I am proud to be apart of such a fun, innovative, and versatile team. Each class offers a different teacher, giving you the chance to find YOUR right fit, and it's great because you don't just get to see a serious intimidating yoga teacher, you see someone connecting with you on YOUR level. I know beer and yoga isn't traditional, but there is a lot of yoga that has formulated in the West, and it isn't very traditional either. These classes are for those who just want to go out, have some fun, enjoy a pub hopping yoga studio that showcases breweries, tasting rooms, amazing craft beer, take a fun class that shows introductory yoga poses for those who are new to yoga - because who knows, a beer yogi can easily become a yogi and a yogi can become a beer yogi too. :-)" Abby Cox #bendbeeryoga #namasdrink #inbend #bendoregon
